I’ve now been using Satsman for nine months, and from the very beginning my focus has been not only on how many sats I can earn myself by completing missions and playing games, but also on building a team. I want to build a team of active members who earn their own sats, refer other people and, in doing so, generate referral commissions for me as well.
Satsman refers to your referral team as your “army”, which is a rather different way of describing a downline. In my case, I’m building that army through two quite different approaches. One is based around the Hive blockchain, where I’m already active and have built up relationships with other users. The other is much closer to the online marketing methods I’ve been using for many years, involving a lead capture page, a free ebook, email marketing and a variety of traffic sources.
I’ve made a video showing exactly what I’m doing and where the referrals coming into my team are coming from.
Two Different Ways of Building My Satsman Team
The two approaches are aimed at rather different audiences. With the Hive strategy, I’m introducing Satsman to people who are already active within the Hive ecosystem and therefore have some familiarity with cryptocurrency. The second, marketing funnel strategy, is aimed more broadly at people who may never have heard of Hive but are interested in Bitcoin, cryptocurrency or ways of earning online.
I like having these two routes because I’m not depending entirely on one source of referrals. They also allow me to use different skills and resources that I’ve built up over the years. My Hive activity gives me an established community in which I can talk about what I’m doing, while the marketing funnel gives me a way of reaching people outside that community.
Rather than simply putting a Satsman referral link in front of people and hoping they join, I’m trying to give people some context first and let them decide whether Satsman is something that interests them.
Building a Satsman Team Through Hive
I’ve been active on the Hive blockchain for several years, so it made sense to introduce Satsman to people I already interact with there. People who are active on Hive are generally familiar with cryptocurrency and the idea of building up a cryptocurrency balance, although that obviously doesn’t mean they will automatically be interested in Satsman.
I’ve written a number of posts about my experience with Satsman on the Hive blockchain, including updates on my earnings, withdrawals and other things I’m doing on the platform. I also post regularly on Snapie – the microblogging platform built on Hive.
One thing I particularly like about this approach is that I don’t have to invent separate content simply to promote Satsman. I’m already using Satsman every day, so I can share things that I’m actually doing. For example, I play Sats Cipher, record the result and earn sats from the activity. I can then share that result on Snapie and talk about my experience with Satsman.
I’ve also been sending HIVE and Ecency rewards to people who take action and become active on Satsman after discovering it through my Hive activity. This creates a connection between the two communities and gives me another reason to keep documenting what I’m doing.
The Hive Strategy Can Also Grow Beyond My Own Referrals
Another interesting part of building a referral team is that the people I introduce can then introduce other people themselves. I’m therefore not necessarily trying to personally recruit every member of my team.
For example, someone may discover Satsman through one of my Hive posts, join through my referral link and decide that they want to build their own team. If they then introduce people from their own network, those people become part of my wider Satsman team as well.
That is one of the things I find interesting about the referral structure. I can concentrate on introducing people who are likely to be interested in what I’m doing, while the people who join can decide for themselves whether they want to build their own teams.
My Second Strategy: A Marketing Funnel
The other side of my Satsman promotion is much closer to the affiliate marketing methods I’ve been using for years. I’ve created a simple marketing funnel around a free ebook called Stack Your Sats 2.0: Mission 1 Bitcoin.
The basic process is straightforward:
Traffic → Lead Capture Page → Free Ebook → Email Follow-Up → Satsman
Someone sees one of my advertisements or other promotional content and visits the lead capture page. If they want the ebook, they enter their details and receive it. They then become part of my email list, where I can provide more information about Bitcoin and Satsman through a follow-up series.
I prefer this approach to simply sending cold traffic directly to a Satsman referral link because it gives people an opportunity to find out more before making a decision. Someone might be interested in Bitcoin but not know anything about Satsman when they first encounter my promotion. The ebook gives them something relevant to look at, while the email series gives me an opportunity to explain what I’m doing in more detail.
This is familiar territory for me because I’ve been building mailing lists and marketing funnels for a long time.
Where Is the Traffic Coming From?
In the video, I show the actual sources appearing in my subscriber statistics. This is useful because I can see not only that people are joining my list, but also where they came from.
Some of the traffic is coming from ten LeadsLeap Pro Ads that I’m using to promote the campaign. Other subscribers are coming through traffic sources such as:
- Traffic Zipper – a service that enables you to automate your safelist mailings to several dozen leading safelists and mailers.
- Traffic Ad Bar – a traffic exchange that actually delivers results (as I show in the video, above).
I’m also using a number of mailers, including Queen of Hearts Mailer and Viral Pulse Mail, which can operate largely on autopilot once the advertising has been set up. That means my Satsman campaign can continue to receive exposure while I’m doing other things.
YouTube is another source. I know that some people have discovered Satsman through my videos, including people whose signups aren’t always immediately attributed to a particular source in the statistics.
That’s one reason I continue to use YouTube for this kind of marketing. A video gives me the opportunity to explain what I’m doing in considerably more detail than a banner advertisement, and it can continue bringing people into the process after the original video has been published.
Why I Use Multiple Traffic Sources
I’m not suggesting that everyone needs to use all of these traffic sources. One of the advantages of tracking my subscribers is that I can see which sources are actually producing results and then decide where I want to spend more of my time and resources.
For example, I can look at my LeadsLeap statistics and see which Pro Ads are generating subscribers. I can see which traffic exchanges are sending people into the funnel, which mailers are producing activity, and which subscribers appear to have discovered me through YouTube.
That information is much more useful to me than simply seeing another referral appear in my Satsman account. I want to know where that person came from because that gives me something I can work with.
If one source consistently produces subscribers while another produces very little, I can adjust the way I use them. Over time, that should allow me to concentrate on the sources that are proving useful rather than treating every source of traffic as equally valuable.
The Advantage of a Funnel
There is another benefit to using a funnel rather than sending every visitor directly to Satsman. When someone requests my ebook, they become a subscriber on my email list, which gives me another opportunity to explain what I’m doing.
Someone may not be ready to join Satsman when they first encounter the offer. They may simply be interested in Bitcoin and want to read the ebook. They may read one of my emails later, watch one of my YouTube videos or come back to the subject after seeing something else about Satsman.
That gives people time to make up their own minds rather than requiring them to decide immediately whether they want to join.
It also means that the work I put into creating the funnel and building the email series continues to have a use beyond a single visitor arriving at a webpage.
Pro Members Can Reproduce the Funnel
I’ve also made my Stack Your Sats: Mission 1 Bitcoin funnel available to my Satsman referrals. If someone joins my team and becomes a Pro or Pro Max member, they can ask me for the share codes and reproduce the basic funnel with their own Satsman referral link.
There is one requirement for doing this. You need to be a Pro member of LeadsLeap in order to reproduce and rebrand the funnel.
That is another reason I use LeadsLeap myself. The Pro membership gives me access to the funnel-building tools as well as the Pro Ads that I use to promote my campaigns.
So the system I’m using to build my own Satsman team can also be used by people who join my team and want to develop their own marketing approach.
Nine Months In
At the time I recorded the video, I had been using Satsman for nine months. I’d accumulated around half a million sats in my account, and I’d already withdrawn a substantial portion of what I had earned.
The withdrawals have been made through the Lightning Network, and I’ve documented several of them on this blog and on YouTube. I’ve also written about how I transferred one of my Satsman withdrawals into HIVE.
How I Transferred Bitcoin from Satsman and Converted It into HIVE
That was a good example of how my Satsman and Hive activities overlap. I can earn sats through Satsman, withdraw them through Lightning and then use them within the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem, including converting them into HIVE.
The Results Are My Own
It’s important to put my results into context. The fact that these strategies have produced results for me doesn’t mean somebody else will achieve the same results.
I’ve been involved in online marketing for more than 20 years, and I already have websites, email lists, YouTube channels and an established presence on Hive. I also have considerable experience with building funnels, generating traffic and creating content.
Those things are part of the picture when looking at what I’m doing.
I’m also not claiming that every traffic source I’ve mentioned is equally effective. I’m tracking where my subscribers come from and using that information to work out which sources are worth continuing to use.
That is a very different proposition from claiming that there is some magic traffic source that will suddenly produce a huge referral team. Building an audience and developing a referral team takes time, and I’m still in the process of doing it myself.
Building Something Over Time
For me, the interesting part of Satsman isn’t simply completing a daily mission and earning a few sats. Those daily activities are what got me started, but I’ve become increasingly interested in what happens when I combine them with content creation, referral marketing and the communities I’m already involved with.
The Hive side gives me an audience that is already familiar with cryptocurrency. The marketing funnel gives me a way of reaching people outside the Hive ecosystem. YouTube gives me a way to explain what I’m doing and show my results, while the referral structure means that people I introduce can potentially introduce other people themselves.
That’s the basis of the Satsman Army I’m building. I’m not expecting it to appear overnight. I’m documenting the process, looking at where the referrals are coming from and gradually working out which methods make the most sense for me.
