How I Transferred Bitcoin from Satsman and Converted It into HIVE

I’ve written before about converting Bitcoin earnings into HIVE, but this time I used a completely different route.

I recently withdrew 22,554 satoshis from Satsman to my Lightning address connected to V4V.app. Once the sats arrived, I converted them into HIVE.

The whole process was:

Satsman → Lightning → V4V → HIVE

I’ve been using Satsman since December 2025, and I’ve been involved with the Hive blockchain for several years, so this was a nice way to connect two things that are already part of my online activities.

Watch the Satsman update

If you’d rather read about what I did, here’s the short version.

The withdrawal was completed on September 9. I checked my V4V wallet and confirmed that the 22,554 sats had arrived.

I then converted those sats into HIVE.

And if I want to go a step further, I can Power Up some or all of that HIVE and turn it into Hive Power.

I’ve Been Moving Bitcoin into Hive for Years

This isn’t the first time I’ve converted Bitcoin earnings into assets within the Hive ecosystem.

Back in 2023, I wrote about converting Bitcoin earnings from another online programme into HIVE and then HBD. That was long before Satsman and V4V.app existed, though, so the process was quite different.

What’s interesting about this latest transaction is the route.

Satsman → Lightning → V4V → HIVE

V4V gives me a way to connect Bitcoin earned through Satsman with the Hive ecosystem without first sending the Bitcoin to a conventional Bitcoin wallet.

I’ve also been exploring the Satsman/Hive connection in another way. As I wrote recently, I’ve been using Snapie, a microblogging platform built on Hive, to share some of my Satsman activities and potentially earn HIVE from the content.

So this latest transaction is another small experiment in connecting the two ecosystems.

How the Satsman Withdrawal Worked

The first step was to withdraw the Bitcoin from Satsman.

Rather than sending the sats to a conventional Bitcoin wallet, I used my V4V Lightning address as the withdrawal destination.

The transaction was completed on September 9, and the 22,554 sats arrived in my V4V wallet.

That gave me the Bitcoin balance I needed for the second part of the process: converting the sats into HIVE.

This is one reason I find Lightning useful for relatively small Bitcoin transactions. Instead of dealing with a conventional on-chain Bitcoin transaction, I could send the sats directly to a Lightning address.

What Is V4V.app?

V4V.app is essentially a Bitcoin Lightning wallet for the Hive ecosystem.

Its current documentation explains that you can use HIVE or HBD in your Hive account to pay Lightning invoices or send sats to a Lightning Address. You can also deposit sats into V4V and convert them into HIVE or HBD.

In my case, I used it in the opposite direction from the usual Hive-to-Lightning example:

Lightning sats → HIVE

I already had Bitcoin earnings from Satsman. I sent those sats to my V4V Lightning address, received them in V4V and then converted them into HIVE.

There are conversion costs and exchange-rate considerations, so I’m not suggesting that everyone should automatically convert their Bitcoin earnings into HIVE.

I’m simply documenting something I’ve actually done.

A Quick Explanation of HIVE and Hive Power

If you’re new to Hive, the terminology can be slightly confusing.

HIVE is the liquid cryptocurrency. You can hold it, transfer it or trade it.

Hive Power (HP) is HIVE that has been powered up. It represents your stake in the Hive network and gives you more influence within the ecosystem. It is also connected to the Resource Credits used for normal blockchain activity.

So, after converting the sats, I have a choice.

I can simply keep the HIVE as liquid HIVE, or I can Power Up some or all of it and add it to my Hive Power.

That means the complete route can be:

Satsman → Lightning → V4V → HIVE → Hive Power

I don’t necessarily have to take that final step, of course. But since I’ve been building my Hive Power for several years, it’s an option that makes sense for me.

My Latest Satsman Results

The withdrawal is only one part of my latest Satsman update.

I’ve now been using Satsman since December 2025, and I’ve been steadily building my team alongside completing the daily missions.

In the video, I also look at a recent change to the Satsman Founder Rotator, which is designed to give founders another opportunity to receive verified members when previously allocated members don’t become active.

I also received a 1,333-sat Team Builder prize after finishing fourth on the weekly leaderboard for team growth during September 7–13.

So there was quite a bit to cover in this latest update.

But I particularly wanted to show the withdrawal because it demonstrates something I find useful about Satsman.

The sats I earn don’t necessarily have to remain in Satsman or go directly into a conventional Bitcoin wallet.

Once I’ve earned them, I can decide what I want to do with them.

In this case, I moved 22,554 sats through Lightning, converted them into HIVE and added another small amount to my cryptocurrency holdings.

Why I Find the Satsman and Hive Connection Interesting

Satsman and Hive are obviously very different ecosystems.

Satsman is focused on Bitcoin, daily missions and its subscription-based community, while Hive is a separate blockchain ecosystem with its own cryptocurrency, applications and communities.

But Lightning and V4V provide a practical connection between the two.

I can earn Bitcoin through Satsman, use Lightning to move those sats, convert them into HIVE and then use that HIVE within the Hive ecosystem.

That’s particularly useful to me because I’m already active on Hive.

I’m not starting from scratch with another cryptocurrency that I have no use for. I already have a Hive account, I’ve been building Hive Power for years, and I create content on the blockchain.

So this gives me another way of putting some of my Bitcoin earnings to work within an ecosystem I’m already using.

The Bottom Line

This wasn’t a complicated transaction:

22,554 sats earned through Satsman → Lightning withdrawal → V4V → HIVE

But I think it’s a useful example of how different cryptocurrency ecosystems can connect.

An earning opportunity doesn’t necessarily have to exist in isolation. Once you’ve earned the cryptocurrency, you may have several options for what you do with it.

In my case, some of my Satsman Bitcoin has now become HIVE.

And if I decide to Power Up that HIVE, it will eventually become part of my Hive Power stake.

That’s the experiment I’m continuing to explore.
