Well, April had its fair share of drama for me on the Hive blockchain!
I began the month feeling pretty chipper about having been promoted to Co-Leader in one of the Splinterlands guilds. Splinterlands is a blockchain-based trading card game where players build decks, battle other players’ monsters, and earn crypto rewards. Cards are NFTs that can be collected, traded, or rented. Games are fast and furious and involve a combination of selection and placement strategy, skill, and luck. Here’s a battle I recently fought (as Hirohurl):
Splinterlands guilds are player alliances that battle other guilds in special tournaments to earn rewards in the form of crypto (SPS) and “merits” which can be used to buy monster NFTs and other goodies.
In becoming a guild co-leader, my intention was to build up the guild as the other Co-Leaders were either dormant or no longer involved with the game at all. To that end, I added a Guild goal to my list of 2025 Hive token goals, namely, “to upgrade our guild store to level 3 by donating 23,910 Guild Points.”
That Blew Up In My Face!
Then, in the middle of April, I was kicked out of the guild along with all the other active members and everybody else as well, including the Co-Leader who had gracefully upgraded my status for me. It turned out that one of the founder members of the guild, who has never been an active player, either disliked the upsurge of activity and kicked us all out, OR had sold his position to some other loser whose only activity so far has been … to kick us all out! 😂
I Start My Own Guild
That shock galvanized me, and I immediately started my own guild and am happy to report that all the active players from the old guild have joined. Our first brawl under our new name – The Blood-Boltered Herd – will commence in a few hours from now…
Since we are starting from zero again, I have updated my newest 2025 goal for our Splinterlands Guild Store, aiming to invest the full 30,000 GP to raise it to level 3. I hope to get started on that project this month…
Apart from that, April was a month of fairly steady progress across most of my token positions, with the exception (again!) of CTPSB, which I raided so that I could take advantage of the short-term drop in the price of LEN.

I think I’m well placed to break into the 8,000s this month, which should put me on course to achieve my 10k HP goal this year.
HBD Stretch Goal
I’m a bit surprised to note that April, at +74 HBD, was the smallest monthly gain in my HBD position so far this year. Of course, it’s nowhere near enough for me to hit my 12k stretch goal, but I set that goal in the hope that Bitcoin would hit new all time highs later this year so that I can hit the target with a quick swap – and there’s still plenty of time for that to happen!
CTPSB et al
A “quick swap” of Bitcoin might also be necessary to hit my 2025 target for CTPSB and one or two other targets as well!
