When you create a piece of content, whether it’s a blog post, a video, or an email, you’re not just creating for one platform – you’re building the foundation for a much larger strategy. In this post, I’ll walk you through how I repurpose my YouTube videos to maximize their reach and engagement across all three pillars of my online business: my YouTube channel, my mailing list, and my WordPress blog.
Step 1: Publish the Video
It all starts with creating and publishing a video. Yesterday, for example, I uploaded a video titled Why Wayne Crow’s OSLP System is the Best $7 Business Program on the Internet 🥳. This video introduced viewers to the OSLP System and shared my progress with it.
Step 2: Leverage the Mailing List
Once the video went live, I sent a broadcast email to my Sendsteed mailing list of over 1,000 subscribers. The email included a brief introduction and a link to the video. With an 8% open rate in the first few hours after the broadcast was sent, and 1% of those recipients clicking through, this step alone brought additional views and engagement to the video.
Step 3: Create a Blog Post
Next, I turned the video’s transcript into a blog post. To do this, I used the transcript feature on YouTube, copied the text, and refined it into a cohesive blog post. Tools such as ChatGPT or the Wealthy Affiliate AI blog writing service help streamline this process, but I always make sure to edit the content to match my tone and add any necessary links. The blog post provided a detailed explanation of my OSLP journey and included links back to the video. Here is the blog post:
Step 4: Broadcast the Blog Post
With the blog post live, I sent another email to my list, this time promoting the blog. This approach ensures that subscribers who prefer reading over watching videos can still engage with the content, while also driving traffic to my blog.
Step 5: Build Backlinks
My next step is to update the video description on YouTube with a link back to the blog post. This creates a valuable backlink from YouTube to my blog, increasing its SEO value and encouraging more traffic between platforms.
Step 6: Expand to Other Platforms
Okay, so that’s how I work with the “three pillars” of my online business, YouTube, my list, and my blog.
To reach even more people, I share my content on platforms such Facebook and the Hive blockchain. For example, I posted about my OSLP progress on Hive using the InLeo.io front end. Not only does posting on Inleo help me connect with a different audience, it also earns me some crypto (in the form of Hive Power, and Hive Backed Dollars) from my post – proof that repurposing content can generate both traffic and revenue.
Final Thoughts
This process highlights how one piece of content can be repurposed and posted in different forms across multiple Internet properties. My three pillars – YouTube, my mailing list, and my WordPress blogs – are the foundation, but platforms such as the Hive blockchain (via the InLeo.io front-end), Facebook, and others offer valuable supporting roles.
If you’re not already repurposing your content, you’re leaving traffic and engagement on the table. With a little effort, you can stretch the impact of every video or blog post across multiple channels, maximizing your reach and results. Actually, repurposing one piece of content multiple times is far more efficient than creating single-purpose content every time.
Do you repurpose your content? If so, what’s your favourite way to repurpose content? Let me know in the comments below!
Cheers!
